Decade is a psychological landscape of my experience living in New York City from 1999–2009. It is a computer drawing executed in a text editor using the Unicode character set. This approach to creating graphics using text is commonly referred to as ASCII art and has a long history in the pirate software scene as a means for groups to tag releases with their unique signatures. Decade provides a symbolic framework for contextualizing and interpreting my body of work, acting as my own personal mark.
